Refund & Cancellation Policy

How to cancel, when you’re entitled to a refund, and how we process it. This policy sits alongside — and never reduces — your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

This policy explains cancellations and refunds for subscriptions to the Maintn platform provided by Maintn Pty Ltd. It is read together with our Terms of Service.

1. Your Australian Consumer Law rights come first

Nothing in this policy excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law. If a service fails to meet a consumer guarantee, you may be entitled to a remedy regardless of the timeframes below. This policy is in addition to those rights.

2. Free trial

Where a free trial is offered, it runs for 14 days and does not require a card up front. If you cancel before the end of the trial (before day 14), you are not charged. If you do not cancel, the trial converts to a paid subscription and the plan fee applies from that point.

3. Monthly subscriptions — 30-day money-back

If you are on a monthly plan and you are not satisfied, you may request a full refund of your most recent monthly charge within 30 days of that charge — no questions asked. Your subscription is then cancelled at the end of the current period (or immediately, if you ask). After the 30-day window, monthly fees already charged are not refundable, but you can cancel at any time to stop future charges.

4. Annual subscriptions — pro-rated

If you are on an annual plan and cancel partway through the term, we refund the unused portion on a pro-rata basis — the fee for whole months remaining after the month in which you cancel. Any discount applied for paying annually may be adjusted to the equivalent monthly rate for the months you used.

5. How to cancel

You can cancel at any time from Settings → Billing in your dashboard, or by emailing info@maintn.com.au. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period unless you request an immediate cancellation with a refund as described above. After cancellation you can export your data for 30 days.

6. How refunds are processed

  • Refunds are made to your original payment method via our payment processor, Stripe.
  • They are typically processed within 5–10 business days; your bank may take additional time to show the credit.
  • Refunds are made in Australian dollars (AUD); we are not responsible for currency-conversion differences applied by your bank.

7. Exceptions

We may decline a refund where an account has been terminated for a serious breach of our Terms of Service or Acceptable Use Policy, or where a refund request is fraudulent or abusive. This does not affect your non-excludable rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
